Located on a working farm our Inn recalls the clearly grand days of the 1860’s - when it was first constructed it came complete with a pressurized water system in the kitchen and servants quarters for 5. Built for the remarkably large sum (at the time) of $3000 by Samuel Osterhout - a direct relative of our Inn keeper, we have recently restored and upgraded this magnificent residence. We believe we have created a place to stay - second to none - in Prince Edward County. Now in our 18th year welcoming guests to stay with us, Kailey takes over as Inn Keeper - the 3rd generation in our extended family to do so. Until this year, we offered 3 rooms first as a Farm Vacation property and then as a B and B. We are so pleased to announce that, with extensive renovations to our bedrooms and bathrooms, we now have 5 beautifully appointed suites in the Farm House and...in the separate and very distinct Carriage House - we offer a generous private space for the entire family to stay. With each of our uniquely decorated rooms we include breakfast and as often as possible, since we grow our own fruit and vegetables, we serve produce from our farm. We like to think of this as our '100 metre' diet.
We are pleased to partner with From the Farm Cooking School, the regions “ultimate field to table culinary experience”. Owner Cynthia Peters, a personal chef and food writer, conducts cooking classes that highlight the art of seasonal cooking and traditions from around the world. These hands on classes are conducted in
her restored 1830’s heritage farmhouse, Willow Hill, located about 15 minutes from our Inn. Private and Group classes available.
